Tinting + Ombre Brows
Eyebrow Tinting uses semi-permanent dye to enhance the color, shape, and fullness of the eyebrows. It involves darkening the natural brow hairs and sometimes the surrounding skin to create a more defined and polished look. This is particularly effective for people with light, sparse, or uneven brows.
Ombre Brows, also known as ombré powder brows or shaded brows, are a semi-permanent makeup technique creating a soft, gradient effect on the eyebrows. The technique involves using a small machine to deposit pigment into the skin in a way that mimics the look of softly filled-in brows.
Tinting is a straightforward process and we can get started on your dream look immediately! However, Ombre Brows and any PMU require more preparation to ensure you are a good candidate for the procedure. Read our FAQs below to answer all your Ombre Brows questions!

What is hard vs. soft wax?Hard Wax Description: Hard wax is a strip-less wax that hardens on the skin and is removed directly by pulling it off without the need for a strip Hard Wax Advantages: • Adheres only to the hair, not the skin, reducing discomfort. • Ideal for coarse or short hair. • Often results in less redness and irritation. Soft Wax Description: Soft wax, also known as strip wax, stays pliable and requires a cloth or paper strip to remove. What should I know about medications and Body Waxing?Medications and Waxing Certain medications can thin the skin, increase sensitivity, or interfere with healing, so these should be evaluated carefully: Medications to Avoid Prior to Waxing 1. Retinoids (topical and oral): • Examples: Retin-A, Renova, Differin, Tazorac, or Accutane (Isotretinoin). • Why? These can thin the skin and make it more prone to tearing. Avoid waxing at least 6 months after using Accutane and 1–2 weeks after topical retinoids. 2. Steroids: • Examples: Prednisone, hydrocortisone, or other corticosteroids. • Why? These weaken the skin, increasing the risk of damage during waxing. 3. Blood Thinners: • Examples: Aspirin, Warfarin, Heparin. • Why? These increase bruising risks. 4. Skin-Sensitizing Antibiotics: • Examples: Tetracyclines, Doxycycline, and topical antibiotics. • Why? They can heighten skin sensitivity to waxing and sunburns. Recommended Medications or Supplements • Pain Relievers: Over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen (taken 30–60 minutes before waxing) can help reduce discomfort. • Calming Supplements: Taking supplements such as Vitamin C or antihistamines may reduce redness or swelling post-waxing.

What else should I consider prior to a Body Waxing service?Other Factors to Consider 1. Pregnancy: Hormonal changes during pregnancy can make skin more sensitive. Waxing is generally safe, but it may feel more painful. 2. Alcohol or Caffeine: Avoid consuming these at least 24 hours prior to waxing, as they can heighten sensitivity. 3. Skin Care Products: Stop using exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA) or other actives in the waxed area at least 48 hours before waxing.

Give me more details about Ombre Brows!• The front of the brows is lighter and more natural-looking, gradually becoming darker and more defined toward the tail, creating a shaded or “ombré” effect. • This method is customizable and suitable for most skin types, including oily skin. • Ombré brows typically last 1-3 years, depending on skin type, lifestyle, and maintenance, and require touch-ups for long-term results. They are ideal for individuals looking for a defined yet natural brow without the need for daily makeup application.

Are Ombre Brows right for me? (contraindications + medications)Clients should avoid Ombre Brows if they have or are experiencing any of the conditions listed below. Clients with any of these conditions should consult their doctor and notify their brow artist before proceeding. A skilled artist will assess whether ombré brows are suitable or recommend alternatives to avoid risks. Health Conditions • Pregnancy or breastfeeding • Skin conditions at the brow area: Such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, or severe acne. • Allergies to pigment or topical anesthetics • Keloid formation • Autoimmune diseases • Blood disorders • Uncontrolled diabetes: Delays healing and raises infection risks. • Severe skin allergies or hypersensitivity. • Epilepsy or seizures. Medication Use • Use of blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin, warfarin) that can cause excessive bleeding. • Recent use of Retin-A, retinol, or acne medications (like Accutane) within the past 6 months; these can make the skin too sensitive. • Immunosuppressive drugs or recent chemotherapy treatments. Recent Cosmetic Procedures • Recent chemical peels, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion in the brow area. • Prior use of Botox or fillers near the brows within 2-4 weeks of the appointment. Skin Concerns • Sunburn or compromised skin around the brows. • Very oily skin may not retain pigment as effectively. • Previous scar tissue or old permanent makeup in the area, depending on the condition. General Restrictions • Clients under the age of 18. • Consuming alcohol, caffeine, or nicotine 24 hours prior can increase sensitivity or bleeding.

Benefits of Combining Waxing and Tinting
• Defines the brows: Tinting enhances color while waxing creates clean, sharp lines.
• Fills sparse areas: Tint darkens fine, light-colored hairs, giving brows a fuller appearance.
• Long-lasting results: Eyebrow tinting typically lasts 2-4 weeks, depending on skin type, lifestyle, and the product used. The dye gradually fades, leaving a softer, natural effect, and waxing keeps the shape clean for up to 4 weeks.
• Customized look: Clients can achieve natural or bold results tailored to their preferences.
